Welcome to the official home of the International Register of Microcaravans
This web site covers some of the more common British Microcaravans and small camper vans although we may from time to time feature other micros and teardrops from time to time.

IROM was originally set up in response to a casual remark about one of the first microcaravans that I owned way back in 1996. The register was set up as a free archive of material relating to our hobby and over time I have much of that recorded digitally.. Most of what you will see on here is of low resolution but I have available larger size files of these items for those who request it.

The magazine MMCN (originally  just MCN) now regularly features microcars and other related items of interest.. Some of these are saved as pdfs on the MMCN page. Some of the early issues are of poor quality and because of previous computer crashes are all I have left.
David Miles needs a special thanks for maintaining the original IROM sites and for being a bit of a dab hand as a Microcaravan builder.

For those looking for information on microcaravans (A term I coined a few years back) you may well do to use the US vernacular of “Teardrop Trailers” as they are affectionately known over there. People have been building these for themselves from the early 1930's and plans and kits are still available. If you find this site interesting I would be pleased to hear from you. I would be even more interested if you had any information on these lovely  craft  that I don’t have.

I hope to add more pages to this archive as and when I have the time.
